Come along and experience a virtual tour of our studio!

Dreamy Moon Photography is located on the southern end of the Gold Coast at Burleigh Heads. Exit 87.

Beautiful wooden floors line our rustic/ coastal themed studio High 8 foot ceilings that let the amazing natural light in. White paint covers the walls. Which allows the light to bounce the around, giving optimal lighting for the studio.

Secondly the space is divided into 3 main areas. The shooting zone, is where we do the majority of our shooting. Where we put our backdrop and backdrop sheer curtain stain. Our posing bed for newborn babies and of course our favourite elinchrom studio flash light.

Our next zone is where our parents and clients get to sit and get super cozy during shooting sessions. It house our love seat and rocking chair. The perfect place to have a tea or cold beverage. We also use this space for our viewing area when we get to showcase all your photos from our session on our flatscreen tv.

Finally the lifestyle area section. This is the area where we can create more of a documentary, candid and laidback photograph. This area is draped with beautiful oatmeal linen curtains. There is a bleached jasmine jute rug and a floor bed perfect for those candid shots. The bed is dressed in a plain white cover and decorated with lots of textures. Natural elements such as wooden beads and pampas grass are added for a touch of decor.

Bree originally found Dreamy Moon Photography through our Santa mini promotion we ran last year. She absolutely lived our service and booked us in to shoot her wedding. However a postponement was made and we decided to squeeze in an outdoor family shoot in the mean time!

Over the weekend we had an outdoor session scheduled in for a returning client of ours. Bree and her family are just adorable and really wanted to do a nature based outdoors session. I knew the perfect spot! Somewhere with lots of trees, greenery and a kangaroo or two. Think very scenic vibes, sage and earth tones!

Now of course you probably all know us as studio photographers, but that doesn’t mean we can’t do an outdoor shoot on request. We love a good sunrise on the beach or sunset on the mountains.

On the day Bree and her family were beautifully coordinated with their outfits. The boys wore jeans and white shirts, her youngest in a camel toned knitted sweater and of course Bree in a beautiful white flow dress! We made our way through various area of scenery from open fields to canopies of trees and finishing up on the board walk. A perfect area for toddlers to explore and truely be candid!

Bree and her family had requested a photo of the boys so she could send it to their nanny. We captured the perfect photo of them looking over the board walk and into the shrubs!

We have been having lots of fun over on Instagram about guessing what was happening with Dreamy Moon Photography!

So if you read our last blog post you would’ve gotten some little clues about what was coming to the Dreamy Moon Photography. Maybe you even guessed it! We are so excited to announce that Afterpay will now be offered to all of our clients within our Burleigh Heads photography studio.

Afterpay is a fully integrated e-commerce, financial option. That allows you buy now and pay later over 4 fortnightly interest free instalments.

What does this mean for Dreamy Moon Photography clients?

This means that you can now have your artwork, images and experience as soon as possible! Of course we do have to account for editing and printing times.

All you have to do is become an approved Afterpay member. Then simply tap your Afterpay card on our new eftpos machine. Once that’s all approved you will have access to all your goodies!

I had an idea – South Gold Coast Newborn Photographer | Props & Accessories

Over the weekend I had decided to pull every Dreamy Moon Photography prop, accessories and client clothes out into the studio and photograph each individual item. I wanted to craft together an easily accessible place to view everything we currently have in the studio. Of course, it’s is always updating. However maybe I can update this collage and photos regularly!

This was actually an entire afternoon project and I completely underestimated how much we have tucked away in the studio storage closets. Safe to say it was definitely a fun project. It allowed me to take inventory on what we could purchase in the near future and what we probably don’t need. But let’s be real, “I’ll probably buy another shade of cream backdrop”.

The client closet…

Now if you have been to the studio, you would know that we love rattan and bamboo everything! Of course the majority of our props were made of those materials. But truely we try to intentionally select props that are made from natural materials.

As for our client wardrobe, there is a huge selection from 0000-size 2. Perfect to add a bit of variety to a newborn session and a selection of pieces for cake smashes! I also have a few special pieces coming into the studio too. A few items that are hand crafted from the states.

Okay, okay, let’s talk bonnets and halos… because this is one that I had stored away and pulled them all out. We had was more than what we expected. We will add a few more dried floral halos in however. I just love them all and can’t decide! I will be adding these collages into our guides for our clients to have a look at. This will allow you to be able to easily pick and choose what you want for your session.

Gold Coast QLD Newborn Photography | Teodora’s Cake Smash Album – This is the most stunning album ever!

Teodora is the most photogenic baby we have photographed in the studio. Full of giggles and laughter. Her bubbly personality was contagious and shined throughout her images.

We are so pleased her parents selected an album to showcase her beautiful personality. Click here to get a sneak peak into the viewing appointment video. Their reactions are absolutely humbling!

The Album

Well Teodora’s album finally arrived in the studio and it is everything we imagined. Light airy, bright and white. Big blue eyes and smiles full of life.

The album holds 30 images over numerous spreads. A flatlay album was of choice. This album consistently showcases the storyline of Teodora’s cake smash session. Starting off with her milestone images. Dressed in an all white romper, a bonnet and use of the moon prop. Followed by the cake smash itself. And lastly the splash bath.

We filmed an album sneak peak over on our Dreamy Moon Photography YouTube channel.

Safety

The principals of our studio is built around the well-being of your newborn, baby and children.

We know how stressful it is having a new baby, especially if it is your first! Exposing them to new places, can create anxiety with newborn parents! That is why hygiene is of most importance when handling your little freshie! Before and after every session the studio is clean meticulously. All used wraps and props are washed and wiped down. And of course correct hand hygiene is used.

We want to make your experience as stress free as possible and that starts with having a trusting newborn photographer!

It has arrived!

Eeek!!! Now I just spoke briefly in the previous blog about our artwork products arriving from the delivery truck. So if you want, head over to that blog and have a read. Click here.

Firstly let’s go into some more detail, specifically Brayden’s Cake Smash Linen Folio Box. In the colour milk. Oh my goodness! This is a beautiful piece and one of my favourites to date! The craftsmanship of this heirloom item is just simply stunning!

Secondly, the images are cased in a textured matted boarder. A shimmery pearlescent finish was chosen to display the images. Each image is a show case of the storyline of the cake smash. From the milestone photos, cake, the smash and finally the splash bath. Brayden was adorable! And his personality truely shines in the photography artwork. Finally the images are protected in the most beautiful milk linen box. With a black satin pull to help remove the images and a textured finish. This folio box, also known as a deconstructed item is a one of a kind!

We can’t wait for Courtney (Brayden’s mama) to collect her artwork and treasure for years to come!

We are so honoured to receive the AAPC PRIME BADGE Award. The AFNS Award contest judges participants on a level of extraordinarily creative and unique, and show a high level of artistic creation presentation.

Baby in a basket

Firstly our newborn image – “baby in a basket”. Received the highest ranking to be awarded the prime badge award. The focal points on the baby’s face and intentional placement. A warmth to the image to add a final touch.

Bottoms up

Secondly “Bottoms up”, also received the highest ranking and a prime badge. Another vintage inspired image. This image posed Arnhem-Sol in a peach and cream colour palette. Dressed in a hand crafted lace bonnet. Placed on a textured oatmeal/ cream backdrop in bottom’s up position.

Gold & Bronze

Lastly A gold award for the dried floral cake smash featuring Everly-Rae. Finally Dreamy Moon Photography received a bronze placement for the Shine Newborn Photography Awards. The judges adored our Froggy image. Furthermore, they showcased our work on their Instagram, Facebook and website platforms.
