Miami QLD Newborn Photographer | Baby Grace

Paige messaged me in regard to scheduling a newborn photography session for her first baby girl, Grace. Grace was born with an Omphalocele. This can occur when a baby’s abdominal organs are pushed through their umbilical cord. A rare conditions that can be both minor or serious. Grace thankfully was only affected minimally and did not require surgery. Her obstetric medical team handled the issue with ease.

Firstly Dreamy Moon Photography is specifically trained to handle issues that arise with newborns at birth. Common injuries such as Omphalocele, brachial plexus palsy, caput saccidaneum, bone fractures, perinatal asphyxia etc…

Secondly, we will always accomodate our session around your baby if they have experienced a birth injury.

The session

During our session had to accommodate for baby Grace’s abdominal area as it had dressing on it from her procedure and was tender and sore. We avoided any poses on her tummy and stuck with wrapped poses in the props and side lying poses on the posing bed.

Finally focusing on the family component, we captured some amazing breastfeeding imaged of Paige and baby Grace. Solo parent images and family images of the three of them!

Who doesn’t love a themed photo session. Whether it’s be valentines days, Easter , st Patrick’s day, Halloween or Christmas. Themed photo shoots are the perfect way to sneak a milestone session into the year.

Generally run a mini session, themed photos allow you to get a taste of the Dream Moon Photography experience.

If you have never experienced a themed session or a mini session. They generally are shorter in comparison to full private session. Most themed sessions are ran with back to back bookings and the same set up. They are generally quicker and most of the time offered as a discount.

Normally you choose a set collection package instead of the individual tailored collections.

A fun way to get a taste of Dreamy Moon Photography. They are great if you have young kids that love structure. But sometimes a longer private session might be better if you have kiddos that are shy or take a little bit longer to warm up!

Ever tried to photograph your own children and the outcome just isn’t the same! Yep I even have days like that too!

But hopefully with this guide you will be able to set yourself up for the best chance of snapping some beautiful candid photos. Photograph your children in the moment. Candid photos are the best! It’s literally the most stress free what to capture memories.
But if you love a bit more of a theme or you have a vision in mind and want to do a little set up.. plan it out first!
Take photos of your children after they have had food and a sleep. All their needs are met and they are in their happiest state
Use bubbles!

From the first booking inquiry, we knew that Esther’s session would be one for the books. Embracing the concept of organic beauty. We curated an array of bamboo props and swaddles, each carefully selected to accentuate the natural charm of this little dreamer. The tactile quality of bamboo not only provided a gentle touch for Esther. But also added a timeless and earthy aesthetic to the images.

Neutral Tones and Rainbows of Love:

The palette for Esther’s session was a celebration of simplicity and warmth. We embraced neutral color tones, allowing the purity of the moment to shine through. Additionally, the subtle inclusion of brown & beige rainbows added a touch of whimsy. Symbolising the spectrum of emotions that accompany the journey of parenthood.

This Weekend is the final weekend where we are photographing Christmas Mini Sessions! It will be your last chance to capture Christmas themed photos with Dreamy Moon Photography for 2022! It will be bittersweet to wrap up the year, but it is always so rewarding meeting a variety of new and returning families! Baby Photos Gold Coast | Last Chance To Book Christmas Minis

We will be running Saturday sessions at The Well in Upper Coomera during the Hide And Seek Markets 8-12pm. These are walk in sessions and do not require a booking as it is hosted through the children’s markets.

We will have a slight variation in our setup. Outfits and accessories will be available on the day for photographic use. In sized 0000 all the way up to size 4. So many sweet little Christmas rompers too! And a matching sibling outfit!

Afterpay and eftpos will also be available during the market sessions, for your convenience.

The Sunday on the 11th of December we will be hosting private mini sessions at our studio in Burleigh Heads. These will be the last sessions of the year and require a booking.

Artwork will also be available in addition to your mini collection. Our most popular Christmas mini product is the loose print keepsake box.

I know we live in a digital world but there is nothing more timeless than tangible memories of your family!

This blog is just touching the tip of endless options that are available. Of course some of these are our favourites and you can always select them when you select your images at your Dreamy Moon photography viewing appointment.

1-5… Go!

Floating framed canvases. These are stunning! A timeless way to display your family. Floating framed canvases are a modern alternative to standard canvases. They are wrapped and mounted in a stunning oak wooden frame, creating a modern but timeless look.
Folio boxes! If you haven’t heard of a folio box, you are missing out! Also known as a deconstructed album. These boxes house your stunning matted prints that can be switched out and put on display.
Matted prints, a luxury thick print. If you love having 4×6 or 5×7. These are the perfect option to luxe up the way you display your photos. These are thicker than card and will not bend when you are viewing them. They still fit into traditional photo albums but can also be displayed In glass, linen or wooden boxes.
Customised albums! One of Dreamy Moons best selling products. They are simply stunning and can also be printed in acrylic to really vamp up the display.

The day of the Christmas Mini Markets:

We had so much fun photographing everyone’s Christmas minis at Hide and Seek children’s markets. It was so lovely meeting all of the children and their families and of course making incredible memories to finish up 2022.

The day started quite early at 6:30 but gave the Dreamy Moon Team plenty of time to set up and make everything perfect to start taking pictures at 8:00.

We have a variety of families come through and get their Christmas pictures taken. Enjoying use of our Christmas client closet.

Our first clients were absolutely adorable! Little cousins all dressed up in their Christmas outfits. Once’s warmed up they were full of little giggles. We got the sweetest little family photos of them! All dressed up in their little cohesive outfits was big brother Cooper and his baby sister Milly. Capturing the biggest smiles!

We photographed the most sweetest little siblings. Dressed in the most beautiful maroon Christmas dress and the little crochet baby onesie from our client closet. Florence and her brother Ezy were making every swoon with their cute expressions!

Getting out and meeting the community is always such a pleasure and we can’t wait to do it again in December!

Cake smashes are so fun!

There is just something so magical about planing, decorating and creating first birthday magic.

Today’s blog is a little different. I thought it would be a different perspective to share with you some of the behind the scenes process of organising a cake smash.

Of course it starts with the booking process. Once all booked in we start the planning. We love involving our clients in the planing process and have a huge selection of props and outfits that you can choose from in our preparation guide. Alternatively you can always leave the creative process up to us, if it’s not really your thing or you love a surprise!

Next is the fun part

Our team will go out into the field and organise anything that needs external planning such as the cake, balloons, outfits or any particular decor.

Cake decorating is one of the things that we also do in house and love creating unique naked cakes for each set up. Some have drives florals others gold flakes or other amazing designs! And of course the set up, putting everything together and intentionally adding in little details to really create that magic!

Finally the cake smash itself. Capturing those first memories of tasting cake (mostly for the first time) is so precious! The giggles and laughter. The toes between the cake slices and the messy little hands!
