Welcoming sweet Baby Luca into the studio was such a beautiful experience. As an Arundel newborn photographer, I always aim to create a calm and comfortable environment where both baby and parents feel completely at ease. From the moment Luca arrived, his little face lit up with the sweetest smiles. He was an absolute joy to photograph.

Choosing Soft Neutrals and Gentle Blues

For Luca’s newborn session, we kept the styling soft and classic. We chose warm neutrals such as white and cream, complemented by gentle touches of blue. This colour combination created a timeless feel while also adding a subtle pop of colour that worked perfectly for his complexion. As a Gold Coast newborn photographer, I love using tones that bring the focus to your baby while keeping the overall look natural and clean.

Every Baby is Different and That is Okay

Luca had a few unsettled moments due to some gassiness, which is completely normal for newborns. At Dreamy Moon Photography, we follow a baby-led approach and never rush our sessions. If baby needs to feed, be held or simply take a break, we pivot with love and patience. These sessions are about your baby’s comfort above all.

Connection Over Perfection

Because Luca felt most settled in the arms of Mum and Dad, we focused on capturing those beautiful connection shots. These family images are often the most meaningful because they tell a story of love, bonding and those early days of parenthood. You could feel the closeness between them, and it translated beautifully in each image.

A Memorable Experience

Despite some tummy troubles, Luca’s session was filled with gentle smiles, tender moments and plenty of snuggles. It is always an honour to document this special chapter for growing families. Tweed NSW Newborn Photography | Bottoms Up Pose

One of the most iconic poses…

Bottoms up pose is an iconic pose used in newborn studio photography. The pose consists of gently placing your baby on their tummy. Elbow and knee almost or slightly touching. Slightly raising both their head and bottom. To create a little bit of a squishy look. Lastly your baby’s head will be facing towards the camera gently resting in their hands. This pose is photographed on a posing table using posing beans to support the baby in this position.

Your Photographer can get an array of different perspectives whilst your baby is in this pose. Front on view is by far the most popular. Followed by an aerial shot and macro shots.

Firstly it’s important to consider the training of your photographer before booking a newborn shoot with someone.
