There is nothing we love more than seeing the reaction of our clients face when they see their precious babies printed and crafted into heirloom artwork!

It was client reveal day and Courtney came into the studio to collect her beautiful folio box. We did a full reveal video on the folio box and all the detail from pearlescent paper to milk linen colouring.

But back to the reveal of course. Courtney absolutely loved seeing the folio box in person for the first time. She was completely smitten by how precious her baby looked! She ever couldn’t believe how much his changed in just a few weeks.

Now of course we love going the extra mile for our clients and always love to sprinkle in a little surprise here and there. Later on during the week I had organised to drop off some goodies at Courtney’s work. We love supporting our local cheesecake shop and picked up a 6 pack of assorted cupcakes. You’ve waited the whole nine months from finding out those double lines on that pregnancy test. To celebrating, 1 , 2, 3 trimesters of pregnancy. You’ve experienced the most incredible and rememberable thing on this earth, Childbirth!

Yay! Another client reveal!

Recently we had the opportunity to showcase one of our favourite studio albums. Teodora’s cakesmash album is a stunning all white minimalistic album that captured the most precious smiles!

Liz and her husband are local gymnastics coaches, based in Ashmore. It really shows through Teodora’s little personality too. She was so confident and easy going.

When it was time for Liz to pick up her album she was absolutely in love with the results. We are so blessed to work with the most amazing clients and love watching them see their artwork for the first time!

Bree originally found Dreamy Moon Photography through our Santa mini promotion we ran last year. She absolutely lived our service and booked us in to shoot her wedding. However a postponement was made and we decided to squeeze in an outdoor family shoot in the mean time!

Over the weekend we had an outdoor session scheduled in for a returning client of ours. Bree and her family are just adorable and really wanted to do a nature based outdoors session. I knew the perfect spot! Somewhere with lots of trees, greenery and a kangaroo or two. Think very scenic vibes, sage and earth tones!

Now of course you probably all know us as studio photographers, but that doesn’t mean we can’t do an outdoor shoot on request. We love a good sunrise on the beach or sunset on the mountains.

On the day Bree and her family were beautifully coordinated with their outfits. The boys wore jeans and white shirts, her youngest in a camel toned knitted sweater and of course Bree in a beautiful white flow dress! We made our way through various area of scenery from open fields to canopies of trees and finishing up on the board walk. A perfect area for toddlers to explore and truely be candid!

Bree and her family had requested a photo of the boys so she could send it to their nanny. We captured the perfect photo of them looking over the board walk and into the shrubs!

We have been having lots of fun over on Instagram about guessing what was happening with Dreamy Moon Photography!

So if you read our last blog post you would’ve gotten some little clues about what was coming to the Dreamy Moon Photography. Maybe you even guessed it! We are so excited to announce that Afterpay will now be offered to all of our clients within our Burleigh Heads photography studio.

It’s the little memories, Burleigh Heads QLD Newborn Photography | Milestones

Okay, this is going way too fast! And I know I write about this all the time in the blogs. But I really can’t stress how you blink and time flies in that first year of having a baby! It’s like the days are long but the years are short. Some days feel like ground hog day but you look back at the picture and your baby has grown astronomically. What once was a little bundle of curliness is now the biggest squish ever!

So Arnhem-Sol is 4 months old and to celebrate we photographer her monthly milestone photos. Now let’s be real she did not want her pictures taken. Even when encouraged by her big brother. Who absolutely is smitten by her and always wants photos taken with her. So of course we had to get some of Theo too.

I managed to distract her with a toy and placed her in our favourite rattan prop. Which is great for newborns and sitters. Dressing her in a white Two Darlings onesie and a peach coloured lace bonnet. She looked like a little doll. We were able to get a few candid images of the two, which is always so precious.

Milestone photos are the most sweetest as it showcases how much they change over 12 months.

Let’s play another round! Burleigh Heads Baby Photographer | This or That

This or That, a popular and interactive game over on our Dreamy Moon Photography Instagram page.

If you haven’t heard of this game. It’s where you select your favourite image or prop/ outfit in the case of today. We generally do a poll over on Instagram and boy was it close with some of them competing images. However for the sake of today’s blog, you can just comment down below, what your favourite is.

Round rattan flower basket versus the rectangular rattan basket

Okay starting with the first, and that was the round rattan flower basket versus the rectangular rattan basket. Both amazing props for newborn and sitters. But oh my goodness I did not expect results like this! Everyone love, love, loved that round flower basket. It got 100% of the votes. The rectangular basket (which is my favourite by the way), did not have a chance.

Client Wardrobe

The second this and that was from our client wardrobe. Two pieces that are used for cake smashes. The first clothing was a pair of sage overalls and the second a little lace onesie. Everyone ended up loving the lace onesie! Winning with a vote of 67-33%. I love both these pieces and think they photograph both really well so I’m fence sitting for this one!

The moon prop versus the cane pram

Okay and the last this and that which was so close guys! When I checked it was 50/50! But there had to be a winner. Everyone loved the moon prop, this prop is amazing for cake smashes. However the cane pram took the votes in the end. I don’t know what it is about a little vintage pram. But you all loved it in the end! It stole all the votes by 64%.

The Delivery – Gold Coast QLD baby photographer | New props and accessories!

We love a good prop haul and we love it when the delivery driver drops it off! I kid you not he almost didn’t deliver it because he couldn’t find the studio. So I ran out and met up with him to collect the package. Yeah I’m that keen person, patiently waiting for the packages to arrive! We had a few newborn sessions coming up and I always try to take this opportunity to pick out something new for each baby who comes into the studio. Sometimes when it’s a last minute shoot we don’t always have the chance, but when we do. We take full advantage!

The Props

I went onto my favourite prop vendor and picked out a beaten rattan flower basket, designed for newborn babies. This prop is amazing for getting those sleepy wrapped shots or head on hands. When this prop arrived in the studio, it was even more beautiful in person. In fact we even played ‘this or that’ using this prop and it got 100% of the votes as the preferred prop.

To fill the basket, I selected a little baby pink frilled wrap/ basket filler. As this was for our client Elody’s newborn session. Such a beautiful layer to add a little bit of depth into any photo.

I also picked up a little mohair outfit and matching bonnet. In the shade fawn. This outfit is absolutely the cutest thing I have ever seen. I love purchasing local and buying hand made products. This outfit is a true depiction of that.

Lastly for this little prop haul we actually decided to do a little DIY project. My sister had send me through an inspiration picture of a swing for a baby (totally safe and used as a posed prop only). We just had to make it. So we went to Bunnings and got all the materials we needed. Luca spent the after hand crafting this prop and ensuring it was all smoothed down. Perfect for a newborn baby. Whilst he did that I also put up our little halo and bonnet peg holder on the wall which was also a super cute project.

I had an idea – South Gold Coast Newborn Photographer | Props & Accessories

Over the weekend I had decided to pull every Dreamy Moon Photography prop, accessories and client clothes out into the studio and photograph each individual item. I wanted to craft together an easily accessible place to view everything we currently have in the studio. Of course, it’s is always updating. However maybe I can update this collage and photos regularly!

This was actually an entire afternoon project and I completely underestimated how much we have tucked away in the studio storage closets. Safe to say it was definitely a fun project. It allowed me to take inventory on what we could purchase in the near future and what we probably don’t need. But let’s be real, “I’ll probably buy another shade of cream backdrop”.

The client closet…

Now if you have been to the studio, you would know that we love rattan and bamboo everything! Of course the majority of our props were made of those materials. But truely we try to intentionally select props that are made from natural materials.

As for our client wardrobe, there is a huge selection from 0000-size 2. Perfect to add a bit of variety to a newborn session and a selection of pieces for cake smashes! I also have a few special pieces coming into the studio too. A few items that are hand crafted from the states.

Okay, okay, let’s talk bonnets and halos… because this is one that I had stored away and pulled them all out. We had was more than what we expected. We will add a few more dried floral halos in however. I just love them all and can’t decide! I will be adding these collages into our guides for our clients to have a look at. This will allow you to be able to easily pick and choose what you want for your session.
